What is this about?

We are collecting comments about your water and spring tasting experiences in Manitou Springs. Let us know via the contact form which springs you tasted and what you thought!

The various springs you might encounter when visiting are…

7 Minute Spring

Seven Minute Spring was drilled in 1909 and named because the spring produced a geyser of mineral water every 7 minutes. It wasn’t until 1993 that the park and structure of the spring is what you see today. A gazebo is the centerpiece of the park with historic design, featuring an outdoor amphitheater and beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.

Read in further detail of the work that the Mineral Springs Foundation put into the park and the spring, and see some fun photos from their page here.

Cheyenne Spring House

In the 1890s a Spring House was built over this naturally carbonated spring. The red-orange sandstone you see nearby was sourced by the nearby quarry, now Red Rock Open Space.

Stratton Spring

Twin Spring

Found slightly further off the main drag of Manitou’s downtown area, this spring has some fun properties. It has sometimes been called the Twin Lithia Spring as it has trace amounts of Lithium in the water. Originally drilled in the 1920s this spring flows from two sources and combines into one. This spring is a favorite of those on their way up to Barr Trail and is popular for making mineral water lemonade.

Find out more about the spring on the Mineral Springs Foundation page, and learn about the artist who designed the fountain.
