Mantiou Springs is a town at the foot of Pikes Peak, known for the beautiful surrounding landscape and mineral springs. The town experiences a large influx of tourism in the summer due to quite a few various attractions, including the Manitou and Pike’s Peak Railway (aka the Cog Railway), Cave of the Winds, the Manitou Cliff Dwellings, and Miramont castle to name a few. The year round population of Manitou Springs is in the neighborhood of 5,000 people.

Wikipedia says…

Roughly 70% of Colorado’s population resides along the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains in the Front Range Urban Corridor between Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Pueblo, Colorado. This region is partially protected from prevailing storms that blow in from the Pacific Ocean region by the high Rockies in the middle of Colorado. The “Front Range” includes Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins, Loveland, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Greeley and other townships and municipalities in between.

And Manitou Springs is one of those “other townships and municipalities.”
